AHAḾTATTVA. Doer “I”, ego, second mental subjectivity.
AŃU-AKŚARA. Roughly corresponds to jiivátman, or unit conciousness.
ÁRYA SAMÁJA. Socio-religious movement mostly popular in Northern India, based on on the Karma Kánda of the Vedas.
ÁTMAN. Soul, Conciousness.
AVIDYÁ. Extroversive force; the Cosmic Operative Principle which guides movements from the subtle to the crude.

BAODDHA VIJIṊÁNAVÁDA. School of Buddhist Maháyáńa philosophy.
BHÁVA. Ideation.
BRAHMA. Supreme Entity.
BRAHMAMANA. Supreme Mind.
BRÁHMA SAMÁJA. Socio-religious movement mostly popular in Eastern India. Based on the Jiṋána Kánda of the Vedas.

CITTA. Done “I”; objective “I”; objective mind; mind-stuff.
CITI SHAKTI. Objective faculty.

DHARMA. Spirituality, the highest and most subtle expression.
DHARŃÁ. An indefinite “sit-in” an anticipation of an answer from a deity.

GUŃA. Binding factor.
GUŃADHIINA. Under the bondage of the guńas.
GUŃÁDHIISHA. Beyond the periphery of the guńas.
GUŃASRIŚT́A. Created by the guńas.

INDRIYA. Sensory or motor organ.

JAD́A. Matter.
JIIVA. Microcosm.
JIIVÁTMAN. Unit conciousness.

KAEVALYA. Oneness with Parama Puruśa.
KÁMAMAYA KOŚA. Conscious layer of the mind.

MANOMAYA KOŚA. Subconscious layer of the mind.
MÁYÁ. Usually means “illusion”; in philosophical parlance roughly corresponds to “Operative Principle”.
MOKŚA. Salvation.
MUKTI. Liberation.

NIRGUŃA BRAHMA. Non-Qualified Brahma.
NIRGUŃA PURUŚA. Supreme Cognitive Faculty.
NIRVÁŃA. Buddhist term for liberation while alive.
NIVRTTI. Cessation.

PARAMA PURUŚA. Supreme Consciousness.
PARAMÁTMAN. The totality of (1) the Macrocosmic Nucleus; (2) His association with all creation in His extroversial movement, and (3) His association with each unit individually and (4) with all collectively in His introversial movement
PARINIRVÁŃA. Buddhist term for liberation after death.
PÁSHA. The eight fetters of mind: hatred, doubt, fear, shame, censure, bondage of lineage, vanity of culture, false sense of prestige.
PRAKRTI. Operative Principle.
PRATISAIṊCARA. Introversion. “Prati” means “counter” and “saiṋcara” means movement.
PREYA. Extroversive tendency of the mind.
PURUŚA. Consciousness.
PURUŚOTTAMA. Witness of pratisaiṋcara and saiṋcara.

RAJOGUŃA. Mutative force.
RIPU. The six inner enemies: passion, anger, avarice, pride, envy, enchantment with material objects.

SÁDHANÁ. Spiritual meditation.
SAGUŃA BRAHMA. Qualified Consciousness.
SAIṊCARA. Extroversive movement.
SAḾSKÁRA. Reactive momentum; reaction in potentiality.
SANNYÁSIN. Literally, “one who has surrendered one’s everything to the Cosmic Will”.
SAVIKALPA SAMÁDHI. Liberation, becoming one with the Cosmic Mind.
STHITI. State of immobility.
SVAGATA BHEDA. Differences between different parts of the same body.
SVAJÁTIIYA BHEDA. Differences between different species in the same genus.

TANMÁTRA. Inferential wave.

UPÁDHI. Connotative distinction; illusory difference.

VEDA. Ancient book of Knowledge.
VIJÁTIIYA BHEDA. Difference between two generations.
VYÁPTI. State of expansion.
VYOMATATTVA. Ethereal factor.
